Air Out, Power In – Efficiency with Brake Fluid Tronic from LIQUI MOLY

What do engine oil and brake fluid have in common? Both are essential for keeping the vehicles running. And both operate incognito. Despite their importance, hardly anyone pays attention to these fluids. It’s a good thing that workshops replace them during inspections — especially since only properly functioning brakes can ensure safety on the road. A new device from LIQUI MOLY shows how easy a successful brake fluid service can be: Brake Fluid Tronic.
“Whoever brakes, loses!” This quote from rally legend Walter Röhrl captures the essence of motorsport perfectly. It’s not very compatible with everyday driving, though — because anyone who can’t slow down due to a faulty braking system has already lost. The liquid it contains is extremely important: “As a rule, a vehicle’s brake system works hydraulically. The brake fluid transfers the pressure exerted on the brake pedal to the wheel brake,” explains Markus Scherl. The application technician is responsible for the Brake Fluid Tronic project at LIQUI MOLY. This is the name of a device designed for changing brake fluids and bleeding the hydraulic brake system. The device is the core of the new service concept of the same name.
“With this additional offer in our workshop solutions, we offer car dealers everything they need for brake fluid service,” says the LIQUI MOLY expert. Technical developments such as ABS and ESP systems have optimized braking. As a result, the demands on brake fluids and the requirements for their replacement have increased. Brake Fluid Tronic is designed for single-person operation and stands out from many other devices because it features EPC. The abbreviation stands for Electronic Pressure Control. “The electronic pressure control offers many advantages in use,” emphasizes Markus Scherl. “The central control unit with digital pressure display and processor-controlled monitoring mechanisms make operation intuitive and ensure a constant flow pressure with automatic readjustment for consistent performance.” Together, this guarantees a consistently high service level and ensures a fully functional brake system. “An absolute must for components that are critical to safety,” says Markus Scherl.
The scope of delivery includes the device itself, a standard adapter that fits 90 percent of all vehicles, and a collection container, which allows the drained fluid volume to be measured precisely. Additionally, a set with five adapters and one specifically designed for the clutch is available. This set is suitable for many vehicles where the standard adapter does not fit. Other components of the Brake Fluid Tronic concept include brake fluids and other LIQUI MOLY products useful for brake servicing, as well as promotional materials, technical support via the service hotline, and the Oil Guide, which also assists in selecting other operating fluids.
According to the LIQUI MOLY expert, workshops should definitely inform their customers that they must adhere to the brake fluid change intervals specified by the vehicle manufacturers. Mileage does not play any role in this. The hygroscopic properties of brake fluid promote the absorption of moisture from the air. If not replaced, the boiling point of the brake fluid is dangerously lowered, jeopardizing the safety of the braking system. Markus Scherl: “A professional brake fluid service is therefore essential – and with our Brake Fluid Tronic, it is especially efficient, safe, and easy to perform.”
