Motor oils and additives are the two most important pillars of LIQUI MOLY. The company also sells gear oils, greases, pastes, adhesives and products for service and vehicle care. With this extensive range, LIQUI MOLY serves almost every vehicle sector. For example, there are special product lines for motorcycles, classic cars, electric vehicles, bicycles, garden equipment, boats, small aircraft, the camping sector, commercial vehicles, construction machinery and industrial applications.

In addition to its wide range of products, the lubricant company also offers its partners and customers support and service concepts as well as tools and equipment. The range of services includes personal support for the workshops by more than 100 sales representatives in Germany, an internationally accessible service hotline at the company headquarters in Ulm with technical experts, training courses, marketing measures and support with legal obligations.

In its in-house laboratory, the LIQUI MOLY team develops products and solutions for a range of technical requirements. These include products in which renewable raw materials are used. In the field of motor oil development, the product portfolio includes, for example, motor oils developed for requirements related to Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI), as well as fuel-economy motor oils.

Its own production facility in Ulm now fills more than 18 million cans a year for additives alone – and the trend is rising. LIQUI MOLY produces around 90,000 t of lubricants per year, which are sold in more than 150 countries. The majority of these are automotive products. Founded in 1957, LIQUI MOLY’s beginnings go back decades. The first product was an oil additive that contains the solid lubricant molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) to protect the engine against wear. Today, after more than 65 years, this oil additive is still being produced. This additive is also where the company name comes from: LIQUI, because it is a liquid additive, and MOLY because of the molybdenum disulfide.
