Mass unemployment? Mass impoverishment? Mass graves?

CEO Ernst Prost about the situation in and the high symbolic value of New York City.

Dear fellow entrepreneurs,

we're not talking about a country in Africa, we're talking about New York. A wonderful city: Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Manhattan - New York is a symbol of the free world, for culture, arts, tolerance and democracy but in my eyes it is even more so, for cohesion, resilience and the ability to keep standing up and fighting no matter how hard the rain falls. Mass graves do not suit this city, but they are here now and so are overcrowded hospitals, emergency clinics in parks and refrigerated trucks that have been converted into morgues. New York, the city that never sleeps under a giant shroud? - It's unimaginable, unbelievable, painful.

We have wonderful clients in this great city, business associates who still fly our flag in this disastrous situation. I read about mass graves and at the same time I receive e-mails from our clients, but also from our colleagues who are brave, disciplined and hopefully very careful in their work, not only in New York but all over the USA. In all of this chaos, yet I receive success stories from this shaken city. Sometimes it is unbearable...the grief, but also the joy. Joy because I see how our Liqui Moly family works and holds together - in the USA and all over the world! New York will survive, If one city can do it, New York can - I believe and hope so.

It was in the fall of 1979 when I was 22 years old and on a business trip between Canada and USA. My last stop was New York and where I was robbed... It was my own fault but I've never been back to New York ever since... I just didn't feel like it any more... When all this is over I will go back there - to New York - and say a prayer at the Statue of Liberty. Then I'm going to visit our clients and colleagues.

Have a nice weekend.

Yours

Ernst Prost
