Clogged diesel particulate filter
As soon as a particulate filter is installed in the vehicle, it monitors and regenerates itself independently via the engine management system. However, this only occurs, for example, during long highway journeys.
If the vehicle is permanently driven over short distances, we therefore recommend adding our Diesel Particulate Filter Protector. This additive lowers the burn-off temperature of the soot particles and thus prevents rapid loading of the particulate filter, which also reduces the need for regeneration of the DPF.
