LIQUI MOLY at the 24 hours of Daytona

Oil manufacturer extends cooperation with Turner Motorsport

January 2020 – The German oil and additive specialist LIQUI MOLY is continuing its teamwork with Turner Motorsport. This will already be shown this weekend when Turner Motorsport’s BMW M6 GT3 starts in LIQUI MOLY livery for the 24 Hours of Daytona race. “We are looking forward to the 2020 racing season together with Turner Motorsport,” smiles Peter Baumann, Marketing Director at LIQUI MOLY.

This marks the third year of cooperation between the racing team and the oil manufacturer. Turner Motorsports will take part in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and other racing events. The racing team relies on oil from LIQUI MOLY. “The 24 hours of Daytona are one of the toughest tests you can put a motor oil through,” Peter Baumann points out. “If it survives a race like this, it is impressive proof of how well it can protect the engine in everyday use.”

Just how much Turner Motorsport are convinced of LIQUI MOLY’s quality is also demonstrated by the fact that they use and sell these products in their workshops. Many European brands such as BMW and Mercedes, and also Volkswagen and Audi, require motor oils with their own very special specifications for their models. Normal API specifications are not sufficient for this and can even damage the engine. “Our oils have been tested by the European car manufacturers and have also been officially approved by them,” says Peter Baumann.

Alongside its sponsorship of the Chicago Bulls in the NBA, LIQUI MOLY’s involvement with Turner Motorsport is one of its flagship projects in North America.
