LIQUI MOLY becomes new main sponsor of SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball


German motor oil manufacturer signs a five-year contract with the second-division football club and significantly increases its commitment to this rising team.

LIQUI MOLY accompanies SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball as the new principal sponsor on its way to the second tier of German Bundesliga football. In 34 second-division matches, the Ulm Sparrows, as they are called, will play in newly designed jerseys bearing the company logo. They will also be used in the German Cup and in test games. “The second division has a first-class radiance,” says Peter Baumann, Marketing Director at LIQUI MOLY.

After 23 years of abstinence, SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball returns to the second Bundesliga football division. Also in the game: LIQUI MOLY as the new main sponsor. True to the motto “support your local heroes”, it is a matter close to the heart of the motor oil manufacturer from the city on the Danube to accompany the Ulm Sparrows on this journey. “We have closely followed the development of SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball in recent years and are happy that we now have the opportunity to work even more intensively with this club,” emphasizes Peter Baumann. In addition, the deeper commitment of the Ulm-based motor oil manufacturer to SSV can be understood as a tribute to the company’s home base. According to the Marketing Director, the aim is not only to give something back to the region and show the employees how much importance LIQUI MOLY attaches to local ties, but also to strengthen its national presence.

The additive and lubricant specialist is strengthening its commitment to professional football with the sponsorship of the Sparrows. And that for the next five years. This area is not new territory for the Ulm-based motor oil manufacturer. From 2002 to 2005 and from 2009 to 2010, the company’s logo appeared on the shirts of TSV 1860 München.

Football is also part of LIQUI MOLY’s international sponsorship. It’s a good thing that the matches of the second Bundesliga football division are broadcast not only in Germany, but also internationally. The start of the second-tier season is scheduled for the beginning of August.
