World-class tennis with our global brand
Since tennis fans unfortunately did not enjoy this special ATP tournament last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the anticipation this year is particularly great:
The MercedesCup 2021 will be back at the starting line from 7 to 13 June and LIQUI MOLY will once again be clearly visible on the boards! Nine ATP season winners are on the provisional registration list for the MercedesCup, including superstar Alexander Zverev. Stan Wawrinka is also planning to return to Weissenhof in Stuttgart.
Due to the exceptional situation surrounding the date conflicting with the second French Open Week, the qualification starts on Monday, 7 June 2021 and the main group on Tuesday, 8 June 2021. In addition, the event organisers of the MercedesCup have five wildcards for the main group instead of the usual three. "With this group of participants, we can look forward to the attractive and first-class MercedesCup sporting event despite the difficult conditions. We are, of course, aware that changes may still be made to the main group in Stuttgart depending on the tournament schedule at the French Open. In return, we will hold back some wildcards until the last possible moment so that we can react to current developments in Paris at short notice,"explains MercedesCup Tournament Director Edwin Weindorfer. On the other hand, it was a done deal that Nick Kyrgios would take part, as the Australian eccentric has decided not to participate in the French Open. But now he unfortunately had to withdraw his participation due to injury.
LIQUI MOLY Marketing Director Peter Baumann: "Of course, it’s something special to come back after a year without this great tournament. If a little bit of normality returns here as well and we enjoy world-class tennis, we are all the more pleased that our brand will again be visible here as a supporter of this prestigious tournament.
Top sports and LIQUI MOLY simply has a great tradition, and not only sports fans, but also customers, partners and our co-entrepreneurs appreciate it!"
With this group of participants and a concentrated LIQUI MOLY presence, you can look forward to the attractive and first-class MercedesCup sporting event despite the still difficult conditions!
