LIQUI MOLY Team Engstler scores double win at TCR Asia season opener
It was a weekend for the books when LIQUI MOLY Team Engstler showed its dominance at Sepang International Circuit.
Drivers Kantadhee Kusiri and Diego Moran took one win each, setting scorching pace throughout the race weekend to secure top spot for the team in the TCR Championship points table. Kusiri, in car #2, claimed pole in Saturday’s qualifying and dominated Round 1 right from the start. It was a good clean race for the team where the 23 year old did not put a foot wrong and managed to keep his teammate right behind him throughout the first race. He and Moran claimed the team’s first 1-2 podium of the Season.
The tables were turned in Round 2 when Moran, who started the race in 4th, got off to a better start, claiming the lead right as the lights turned green. From there he just put his head down and stayed on pace throughout for a clean race from start to finish.
LIQUI MOLY Team Engstler will compete in the full TCR Asia Series 2017 season with two Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR with car #2 driven by Kantadhee Kusiri of Thailand and car #32 driven by Diego Moran of China.
The 12-round 2017 TCR Asia Series season continues with a visit to Zhuhai International Circuit this 21-23 April 2017 with another two rounds of racing.
