It’s been a rollercoaster year for Stevens-Miller Racing. Fortunately, they have a tried and true professional in Mike Skeen driving the Liqui Moly, Turn 14 Chevy Camaro.
Now in the second half of the season, they currently sit in second place in the Championship standings.
Following the Brainerd race, team owner Joe Stevens said: ““Setting a new track record and taking pole over so many good cars and drivers at Road America was amazing – but we came to win. Mike bringing home our No.1 Liqui Moly, Turn 14 Distribution, Camaro in second helped us close the gap to the leader but now we must push even harder if we are to be champions for the third season in a row.”
So far, consistency has been the bread and butter for the team, having 1 win so far and regular appearances on the podium. With the exception of one controversial DNF, they’ve been regulars in the top 3. But for this team, the podium isn’t enough. Driver Mike Skeen added “We had a great car at Road America but now we must regroup and go for the win. We have two track records so far, but we only have one win. Now it’s time we reach for the championship lead and put up some wins!”
It’s been an exciting season so far, and we’ll be watching intently to see where the chips fall. As far as determination, you’d be hard pressed to find a team with more. This team is hungry, and as we turn the page and enter the second half of the season, that will only increase.
